Terry Lamb sharing his secrets. The #conversation leads to the #conversion. #hbsirvine I learned quite a bit at the Home Business Summit this time around. Terry has always shared a few gold nuggets that I could take home and implement into my business, but this time it was different. I really connected with the story of how he got to be a top earner, making thousands of dollars each week from the very same system I'm using, MTTB.
Terry had a dream similar to many of us that are affiliates and want to make a really good living online. He went from selling regular products at regular affiliate commissions rates and making $15 - $100 per commission, into a high-ticket program. When he made over $60K in one week, and has fifteen thousand dollar days, many of us could say, he made it.
But the reality is that most affiliates never make a significant amount of money. At least, not even a few thousand dollars each month. It's possible and doable with the right ingredients, believe me, if I can do it, you can too. But most people won't do it. It's the same as everything else, you can go work for your dream company and aim for the stars, but out of 100 employees in the same company, only one of them may be the CEO one day.
It takes passion, dedication, commitment, and a lot of blood, sweat and tears. But there's also a bit of a secret.
The secret here is that you can make 1000 sales and get $15 commissions from each sale. Making that a $15,000 payday. Or is that a month? Or more like a year or more for most affiliates. Most affiliates think that it is easy to sell 1000 items. The truth is that it is not easy selling in that kind of volume. The secret is selling less stuff, for more money.
If you find a high-ticket item, then you have a better chance of reaching the same $15,000 income mark sooner and with less effort. You could actually sell a few products that are high-tier and make that commission amount in a single day! See, selling a product that costs $50, and pays you $5 - $10 dollars is not super difficult, you might think that selling a $100 product is twice as difficult, but it isn't.
In fact selling a $1000 (thousand) dollar product isn't 20 times more difficult than selling a $50 product. It's a little bit harder, indeed, but not a lot harder. It really comes down to basic economics, does that person with the offer in front of them want to buy this product? Does it provide the right value? And is it being offered at the right price?
Two kinds of buyers exist for high-ticket items, like high level education, high-fashion jewelry, high-class cuisine. That's what MTTB teaches you, how to sell these high ticket, high commission, high paying items.
If the customer finds that there is $1000, or $5000 worth of value offered in the product and they have that money available they'll make the purchase. It is as if they are destined to buy this just because they want it and they can. Sometimes the price is even more than that. I've seen coaching programs around $100,000 in price.
If they want the product badly enough because it will change their life in one way or another and they feel like they need the product to solve a current problem, then they'll look for ways to make the money available even when it seems like it is nowhere to be found.
Third kind of shopper are the ones looking to save a buck for the sake of saving a buck. These are not buyers of high-ticket items most of the times.
Yes, it is a little bit more involved, but when presented in the right way to the right audience then it is relatively easy to sell a high ticket item. And your commissions will be much higher. Think about this, would you like to make $1000 commissions, for similar efforts that make you $150 commissions? I do! And I'm doing it!
So Terry went from having several hundred dollar days with traditional affiliate products to generating regular $15,000 days. And I'm not exaggerating. With the program that both of us use, if you're accepted into MTTB (learn more here), you will have all the tools at your disposal to make commissions at least at $1000, $3000 and $5000.
This has been self evident for some time now, but it wasn't until I really heard Terry's story that the whole concept clicked in my head. Sometime it takes a few times, or different ways of hearing something for it to truly express its value. It's like an onion that you keep peeling and there is just more and more and more after each layer.
