That was a few weeks ago, and finally today we had a chance to give it a go. I don't want to spoil the video, but let me say this... That is one hot chip.
Have you taken the #onchipchallenge? Are you willing to do it? You can find out more about it by searching for the hashtag #onechipchallenge on most social networks, or directly from the Reaper here.
My thoughts as I was going through the experience...
WTF is this?... I shouldn't have done this... It's not hot, it's criminal... This was a bad idea... Bad idea. BAD. IDEA. Can I mulligan this and skip it the next time around? WTF. Help!
As far as I know, the chips are all sold out and I don't know when they'll have more. I ended up buying 1 bag of Ghost pepper chips and 5 one-chip-challenge chips just before they sold out.
There were 3 of us that did it; I did it, Christian from L.A. Print & Design, and John Chow. Nobody else wanted to risk it, and I don't blame them. But Let's put it this way, it's now about 6 hours later and I still don't feel completely normal.
Overheard quotes about people's experiences on the #onechipchallenge:
"What fixes this!?... Ice cream? I'm lactose intolerant... Oh Gaaaawd, I'm gonna die"
"I feel like my tongue has a pulse"
"I have issues"
"Call 9... 1... 1..."
"You shouldn't do this... if you want to live"
"I'm dying... I'm not waiting anymore"
