I'm glad you agree, we need more people to do so as well. And yes, if it weren't for Windows, yup, we wouldn't be talking about MS... but to their defense they've brought computing to millions *because* of Windows. As for the Social Networks, I agree... Google's Buzz isn't that great.

I think Microsoft is eventually going to be like an IBM, always there, doing something cool but slowly fading into irrelevance as newer, faster, nimbler companies chomp away at their base with truly innovative concepts and products.
BTW, nice Digg article! Tweeted it too!

Yes! and Yes! I agree wholeheartedly with you Oscar. And it's funny when you contrast Microsoft and Google (could really be a B-School case study), but both have failed on their social networking forays. Google Buzz is nothing to write home about. Unlike Microsoft though, which is becoming less and less relevant, Google has so much going for it - gmail, Google Docs, ads, search, etc... If not for Windows dominating the PC market, would we even talk about MS? Every time they introduce something new (MS that is) I try to approach it with an open and fair mind, but there's always that nagging little question at the back of my mind - is the code secure? Will this subjected to yet another major hack attack? Will I be inundated with security updates? And I shy away from using much from the world of MS.

Great post, great points.
