Thank you Susan for your great comment. I am not sure if I agree with everything, especially the part about the rewards systems, but that's a great topic for discussion!

All I know is that this thing "we" have known for a while is finally making its way out to mainstream. Maybe many people are behind and late to the party but in the grand scheme of things, it's still very early on in the game.

Took me forever but I finally read through the report. It is great having the stats presented. The data is kind of mind blowing, but I think it also shows how quickly things are evolving. I feel that in some ways we are all just waking up to a new truth. One that is born so much from the best and is also a natural evolution.

This is my 2 cents,

I think if you are just adding social sharing or using Google trends to pick topics for blogs you are behind. The next step is to get proactive such as the miracle whip example given in the report. You can't just let the conversation happen and you can't get in after it is over. You got to step up and lead the conversation. Be the conversation starter. Get people thinking about why they should be researching your product. Then let what others have said stand as the testament to why they should try.

I also think there needs to be better reward systems for those who take the time to review and talk about products over social media. A way to make individuals feel that they matter, because they do. Involving them in a way that isn't about promotion but honoring their contributions.
